x. OPEN WATER WALL:

There was huge shortage of water in Vidyalaya. In summer this Vidyalaya use to purchase the water from outside. Therefore, the first and foremost priority was given to solve water problem. We conducted a PTC Meeting, discussed the problem and plan was prepared. As per the resolution of the meeting, funds were collected from parents and teachers and open water well was dug upto 40 feet deep. Luckily we got ample source of water and permanently the problem of water is solved. JNV Pune became water problem free Vidyalaya. The whole expenditure for digging the open water well was born from the PTC fund.

y. ELECTRICITY PROBLEM:

Side by side to the beautification we paid very much attention towards electricity. This Vidyalaya, right from beginning was facing load shedding problem badly. There was no electricity for 16 to 18 hours out of a day. It was affecting on many more development and functional aspects of Vidyalaya. Not only it brought great expenditure over diesel but it affected eye health of students and teachers. In short, electricity was the second priority before us.
In the month of July 2008 we submitted estimate for industrial connection worth Rs.6 Lakh. It was approved by Jr. Engineer and then by Executive engineer and Superintendent of Ele. Engineer.
Meanwhile with the help of PTC, we mobilized the sources and sought help of Mrs. Supriyatai Sule, Hon’ble M.P., Mr Diliprao Walase Patil, the then Power Minister of Maharashtra State. They helped us a lot in getting industrial line H.T. connection at free of cost. Ultimately the estimate was cancelled and we could save Six Lakh Rupees.

A. GREEN SCHOOL PROJECT:

At the time of my joining JNV Pune in the month of April 2008, this Vidyalaya was suffering from problems like water and electricity. Land also was looking baron and needed development. All over the front side right and left side of Vidyalaya needed beatification. There was a lot of scope for Green School Project. This Green School Project work was started in May 2008 and it is being continued till the date.

1. LEVELING OF 5 HECTORS LAND IN THE FRONTAGE OF VIDYALAYA:

The frontage of school building was lying unleveled with pits, stones and grass in neglected condition. In the month of May 2008, with the help of Ajay Cranes Bombay Agency, we got these 5 hectares of land leveled at the cost of diesel only.

2. DIGGING PITS:

After leveling of land pits were taken with the help of Ajay Cranes Bombay Agency and labors for plantation. A am proud to say that this expensive work was done at possible less money.

3. FILLING WITH PITS WITH FERTILE SOIL:

Just digging pits was not enough to cultivate gardens as the soil was infertile. So, we filled all the pits with fertile soil from outside the campus.

4. DRIP SYSTEM:

The second plan to be implemented was the Green School Project. To beautify this Vidyalaya out of total baron land it was utmost important. We started planting various plants and simultaneously drip system was done though the area around school building, mess and hostel. It proved quite fruitful in cultivating plants, and lawn in very less expenditure.

5. OPEN WATER WELL:

This first ever plan was prepared to solve the water problem. We conducted a PTC Meeting, discussed the problem and a plan was prepared. As per the resolution of the meeting funds were collected from parents and teachers and dug an open well up to 40 feet. Luckily we got ample source of water. Meanwhile two bore wells were taken out of which one was quite successful in getting water sources.

6. WORK DONE IN COLLABORATION WITH ZILLA PARISHAD, PUNE:

While doing these works we sough assistance from Zilla Parishad administration in developing garden. We have got help of Forest Department in making the plants available for plantation.

7. PLANTATION:

We developed the land and started planting various Plants through the pits dug in leveled land. At present we are having 18 types of fruit gardens like:-

  1. Mango Garden
  2. Guava Garden
  3. Coconut Garden
  4. Lemon Garden
  5. Custard Apple Garden
  6. Pomegranate garden
  7. Tamarind Garden
  8. Almond garden
  9. Cashew Nut
  10. Bel Patra garden
  11. Myrobalan Garden
  12. Chikkoo Garden
  13. Java Plum Garden
  14. Sweet Lime Garden
  15. Orange Garden
  16. Banana Garden
  17. Drumstick Garden
  18. Karipatta Garden

We have developed a kitchen garden also. We tried our best to beautify this Vidyalaya planting coconut trees by both sides of every pavement and road. We have planted Pimple, Banyan Tree and Neem Tree also.

I am proud to say that all those gardens and plants are growing rapidly as a result of care taken and well maintenance. We remained successful in making the students friend with those plants.

8. FARM LAKE:

While leveling the land we also thought a step ahead and proposed to dig a farm lake for both the reasons i.e. Water Harvesting and beautification. With the help of Ajay Cranes, Bombay Agency we dug it out in the beginning. As the wide area we could not complete. It also due to other works but set a proposal before the Government of Maharashtra through Panchayat Samiti to develop Water Harvesting Project estimated Six Lakh rupees. And with this worthy help the project is likely to be completed within short span of time.

9. WATER FOUNTAIN:

To beautify the Vidyalaya right from entrance, it was essential to erect some attractive and pleasurable item. So we decided to build a water fountain at the very front of Vidyalaya. In a very cheap cost it has been built and today it definitely adds beauty, happiness, freshness and novelty to the Vidyalaya.

10. 10. MINI VRINDAVAN GARDEN:

Mini vrindavan garden has been constructed by Parents Teachers Council, On the basis of Mhaisur Vrindavan Garden. In this Garden 1 waterfall is also constructed which looks very beatyful.
